We, organizations of 15 countries gathered in Bilbao, between the days of 29 until 31 October affirm:
We live in a patriarchal, capitalist society, with large financial power, which enriched from the exploitation of natural resources and the people, threatening life of humanity. More than a crisis this is a phase of reorganization of capitalism, in which nature and life are seen as commodities of which large corporations speculate with total impunity. The result is the advance of the accumulation of richness through some transnational companies, for example, associated to mining, energy, water and food; that leads to the imposition of the violation of the sovereignty and rights of the people.
No region of the world is free of the action of capitalism which acts through transnationals and financial markets in all the world, as well as in the South hemisphere and in the North hemisphere.
This model brought a setback for social and political rights won by historical popular struggles considering democracy and resuming practices such as racism and militarism.
The initiatives of resistance and rebellion are seed by the South to the North. Many are the people that organize to confront this system of exploitation and to defend their territories, although transnationals impose themselves brutally through repressive methods practiced with impunity and with governmental and international institutions approval in all parts of the world.
Our total solidarity to the comrades killed by the predatory practices of the capital in all the world. In particular, we would like to homage the comrade Carlão and six comrades mining workers of Leon, which died this week because of the precarious working conditions of the labour class, and we also would like to homage the human rights defenders killed during this year of 2013 in Latin America: Noah Vasquez, Veracruz, Mexico, Nelson Giraldo, of Colômbia and the youth of Ituango Coban, in Guatemala.
Affirmations: Natural resources are not commodities. We reject any form of commodification and speculation of natural resources.
We can not leave unpunished the capital action. The fight must move in all areas and at all corners of the world. It is necessary to consolidate the new forms of international solidarity among excluded from this system in united struggle. Our task is to organize the workers, and those affected by imposed projects, as well as consumers, of the countryside and the city at all levels: local, national and internationally.
Food, water and energy are not commodities!
