MAB distribute leaflets about the price of energy in Fortaleza

To further the debate with the society on the energy tariffs, militants of the Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB) distributed informational leaflets in the streets of Fortaleza, capital of Ceará. This was part of a training course.

In the leaflet, MAB expresses its support to the policy of reducing the price of electricity, denounces the state governments linked to the political party PSDB and entrepreneurs who set themselves against the renewal of energy concessions and against the decrease of the tariffs.

“By distributing the leaflets in downtown Fortaleza, we realized the enormous acceptance and support of the people of Ceará. They require from the federal government the fulfillment of the promises” said the national coordinator of MAB, Tatiane Paulino.

MAB also alerts to strengthen the state-owned companies such as Chesf, to appreciate the work of electricians and to respect the rights of the populations affected by dams. The lower rates have to be implemented without prejudice to the workers and the population.

“We ask the people to report about the tariff changes. Our struggle is to ensure the decrease of the price of electricity and of gas containers” said Tatiane.
