MAB condemns the coup and defend the rights of the people of Paraguay

The Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB) condemns the coup of the State which has being committed against the Paraguayan people and supports the struggle and defense of democracy and order in the country.

At this time we join together with all organizations, authorities and citizens of the world the struggle of the Paraguayan people in defense of constitutional rights, the integrity of the president of this country and the wellbeing of all the people who call for peace and the permanence of Lugo.

The use of violence and the coup against the people who are struggling for their rights has been and still is a practice of right parties and business sectors in Latin America. We believe in the possibility of a fully legitimate government elected by the people to exercise their governance and further changes that will serve the interests of rural workers and the citizens.

MAB also claims an end to the violence against the Paraguayan peasants and express the defense of constitutional rights.
